Just as a minor point, I suspect many people drinking turmeric lattes don't have much idea where turmeric comes from, and if they're appropriating that they're appropriating Italian coffee too!

But I'm being semi-pedantic/semi-flippant. Your central point is important. Self-help is good, and a few decades ago perhaps it was a very necessary reaction to a world in which helping oneself was often seen as a kind of weakness.

However, it can encourage people to become very self-absorbed and blinkered. Like all things, turmeric included, perhaps best taken in moderation.
